Ingredients

  • Unakka Kappa / Dry tapioca pieces 1 Cups
  • Salt some To Taste
  • Coconut 1 Cups(Grated)
  • Chicken (Boiled) 1 Cups(For Stuffing)
  • Onion 2 Nos(chopped, For Stuffing)
  • Ginger 1 piece(For Stuffing)
  • Garlic 1 Nos(cloves,For Stuffing)
  • Chilly 2-3 Nos(For Stuffing)
  • Tomato 1 Nos(For Stuffing)
  • Chilly Powder 1/2 Tablespoons(For Stuffing)
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoons(For Stuffing)
  • Pepper Powder 1/4 Teaspoons(For Stuffing)
  • Chicken Masala 1/2 Tablespoons(For Stuffing)
  • Salt 1 Teaspoons(For Stuffing)

Directions

for puttu:

Clean the tapioca pieces and grate them.

Clean it with water 2-3 times and squeeze and keep aside,this is to remoce paste manner of tapioca.

Add coconut and desired salt it to the grated tapioca and make it like coarse powder.Keep Aside.

for Stuffing:-

Heat oil in a pan ,Saute it with onion,ginger,garlic and chillies.

Also add all the powders for the stuffing.

Add tomato to the mix and when the fresh smell of tomato is changing,add the chicken flesh pieces

If you want .you can add little chicken stock to make it set.

Instructions:-

Take chiratta puttu maker (Stainless Steel Steamer in shape of coconut shell.) and first layer it with kappa mix first.

Then layer it with the chicken stuffing and then kappa mix.

Sprinkle some grated on top layer and steam it well.

Tasty Kappa Chicken Puttu

For a Vegetarian Version ,you can try it without the chicken stufiing too.
